My name is Veerle and I'm a user-centered designer & researcher.

I like to work closely with the client to gain a clear understanding of their company’s needs and strategy and combine that with user needs. To understand these I combine qualitative research with real people in their natural environment. I translate insights into easy to understand infographics and create meaningful products and services to achieve the ultimate goal: happy users.

Qualitative Research Methods
Focus Groups, In-dept interviews, Observational research, Ethnographic research.

Service design

UX
Expert Reviews, UX Research, UX Design, Usability testing, Prototyping.

The last 4 years I worked as UX Designer and Researcher at Soda studio, one of the big digital agencies in Amsterdam. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide variety of clients like Sanoma (education), Achmea (health insurance), Rabobank (financial sector) and NPO (Dutch Public Broadcaster). Before my UX career I had the opportunity to work on a couple of research and design projects to improve the lives of people living in poverty (Uganda, India and Colombia).

I have both a bachelor and master degree from the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the technical university in Delft. I’m passionate about medical design and I have deepened my knowledge in this field with an extra sub-specialization. Besides my work as a designer I love delicious food and I like to cook for my friends and family. To keep myself in shape after all this food I swim and do outdoor running. Whenever it is possible I discover the world and other cultures together with my backpack.

If you would like to talk through a project or find more about how I can help, please feel free to get in touch. I'm available for freelance work.
